I really enjoyed finally meeting Phil Rickman in person at last weeks’"Meet an Author" event at The Longmynd Hotel.

Having just finished reading The Wine of Angels (the first book in his hugely successful Merrily Watkins series)
I was keen to match theman with the written words.
Phil in person is a really sound guy-; approachable, humorous and laidback. I found him thoroughly engaging.

Phil’s books sell consistently well in Burway Books and Ros had a shop event/signing with Phil last year that sold out.

Ros and I had discussed the format of the event and the idea of inviting Jayne Cole to "chat" to Phil proved to be a great one.

Jayne's research and eloquence was a perfect combination and ensured a steady flow to the event.

A lively question and answer session followed and Phil discussed the book he's currently writing. An intriguing blend of lay lines.
