Christmas – ’tis the season to read poetry! And there can be no better celebration of Christmas poetry than this year’s The Twelve Poems of Christmas (Volume Three) selected and introduced by the Poet Laureate, Carol Ann Duffy. It makes a perfect card-and-present for those looking for something inexpensive, worthwhile and beautiful that will last for years to come. This is the third volume in the highly-collectable series and ranges between beautiful, almost mystical poems and other voices that are entertainingly down to earth. Like the previous two Christmas poetry pamphlets selected and introduced by Carol Ann Duffy, we hope that it gets read, put away and brought out again with the decorations each Christmas. This year, Candlestick Press will be making a donation to Amnesty International.

“…I hope that you enjoy this year’s seasonal dozen – they are for opening, like little presents from twelve special strangers.” Carol Ann Duffy, Introduction to The Twelve Poems of Christmas (Volume Three)

“the scrumptious and innovative Candlestick Press.”
Carol Ann Duffy, Poet Laureate

“...Candlestick Press's lovely new pamphlet, Ten Poems about Tea...has fairy cakes and scones from poets as wide-ranging as Carol Ann Duffy and Thomas Hardy. There is also John Arlott, cricket commentator and poet, taking tea with his aunts as a small boy before the war...”
Alex Renton, The Times, February 2011
