Local Authors
Burway Books welcomed several local authors during Independent Bookseller’s Week Burway Books welcomed several local authors during Independent Bookseller’s Week, held between 15th – 22nd June. First to visit the shop was Simon Whaley, author of several books including the bestselling “One Hundred Ways for a Dog to Train It’s Human”. Simon is currently working on a novel which we very much look forward to launching here in the future.
Next was Alison Owen whose book “High Jinks and Happiness” is a beautifully illustrated children’s book telling the tale of a herd of Hereford cows.
Judith Gordon followed, signing copies of her recent book “Moments In Time”, the first in the “Chronicles of Eternity” trilogy. Judith is donating £2 from the sale of each book to St Edith’s Church in Eaton-under-Heywood.
Finally, local photographer Robin Jukes-Hughes popped in to sign copies of his beautiful photographic book “Portrait of the Shropshire Hills”. This is already becoming one of our best sellers this summer with visitors and locals alike. (See separate report on the launch event for this book).
