Forthcoming Events

Tina Humphrey and her dog Chandi - Saturday 7th April
Tina Humphrey and her dog Chandi - the rescue dog who stole the nation's heart - will be at Burway Books to sign copies of Tina's new book, 'Chandi'. Chandi was abandoned as a puppy and was just a few months old when Tina took her in. Although she could not bear to be left alone she soon adapted to life with Tina and her other dog Pepper and learned simple tricks so quickly that Tina knew she had a potential star in the making.

In 2009 they won three Crufts titles, and were finalists in 2010 on Britain's Got Talent.

Come along and meet them - and tell all your friends! (Time still to be finalised: watch this space!)

Patrick Gale - 'A Perfectly Good Man' - 28th April

We are delighted to welcome back bestselling author, Patrick Gale, to celebrate the publication of his latest novel, ‘A Perfectly Good Man’.

Patrick will be hosting a reading and book signing at 7.30pm on Saturday 28th April at the Methodist Church Hall in Watling Street South, Church Stretton. Tickets are £5 in advance from Burway Books (£6 on the door— if any left).

Light refreshments are included in the price of your ticket.

You can order the book in advance for a special price of £13.99 (normally £16.99). If you are unable to get to the event in person we will gladly ask Patrick to sign a copy for you.

Last time Patrick was here the event was a sell-out so please BOOK EARLY if you would like to meet him this time. He is a great story-teller and has a wonderful reading voice so this is really an event to look forward to.

Patrick has quite an extensive back list of novels which we always keep in stock: he is one of our most popular authors.

Book Chat

Our next Book Chat is Thursday 23rd February at 4.00pm—this month’s discussion: "Novels with real characters". It's a friendly informal gathering. Don't forget to book a place if you would like to come.
