Customer: “I want to order a book. I can’t remember the title … or the author. I think it begins with ‘D’. It’s got DEAF in the title & it’s funny”
Us (smiling): “OK, well that’s a challenge for us … is it a novel? Non-fiction? Biography?”
Customer: “I can’t remember … I keep thinking Bill Bryson, but it’s not him! He’s written a book with ‘Museum’ in the title too”
Us (after asking several more questions, and still smiling): “We might need a bit more information than that, but we’ll see what we can find …” Surreptitiously Googles ‘Book; Deaf; Museum; Funny; ‘, finds ‘Deaf Sentence’ by David Lodge and transfers it onto our wholesaler’s website. “Could it be this one?”
“Yes!!! How did you find that?!! ”
