We were absolutely delighted to welcome Samantha Grey and Emma Lister, author and illustrator of Tales of Middle Farm: Mabel’s Surprise to Church Stretton today. Mabel’s Surprise is a true story written for pre-school children based on the experiences of Samantha’s own kids growing up on Middle Farm. A very Shropshire tale, featuring Mabel the Pig, Maddie and Connor!
Held at Church Stretton Library, children and guests were invited into the storytelling zone by Jenny and after a lovely reading of the book by Sam and Emma the children were invited to make their own Mabel and piglets – very fun and entertaining, even for the adults! The children were also treated to a few other animal-related stories and songs while they finished their artwork.
It was a pleasure to meet both Sam and Emma and hear about the events that happen all over the farm, and a big thank you to Jenny and the Church Stretton Library for arranging and holding this lovely event!
