It is always a pleasure to welcome John Challis, aka ‘Boycie’ from Only Fools and Horses, to Burway Books, and as ever he didn’t disappoint when he visited to sign copies of his first novel Reggie: A Stag at Bay. Slipping seamlessly between his real self and his ‘Boycie’ character he chatted to fans of all ages as he signed copies of his books. He was happy to pose for photographs and answer all sorts of questions. John is a real gentleman, knowing exactly how to put people at ease, especially some of his very young fans who appeared rather star-struck at times!
While he was here John presented the ‘Bag of Books’ prize to Simon Cooper who had correctly guessed the weight of a bag full of books as part of our Books Are My Bag celebrations. Simon had used his birth weight for his guess and was the closest person to getting the exact weight.
